Winter wonderland and not a snow flake in sight!

This wedding was in January but the bride chose gray and orange as her color scheme. The Crystal trees added the hint of winter but the orange was warm and cozy! The bride and her friends made every one of the orange fabric balls on each guest table. I found all the drum shades and added LED lights to make each vase look like a lamp. The photographer took pictures of the Bride's daughters holding a number to use as table numbers. I then had each photo mounted on foam core. We made custom pillows for the rented lounge sofas and a great orange accent rug centered the area and brought the color to the floor.

PURE SPACE in Portland, Oregon, is the perfect spot for a large wedding. You can't beat the lighting that they provide. We pulled the colors off with pewter table cloths and orange for the head table. Gobo lighting gave us the initials for the drape. We used custom suckers as table assignments. Each sucker had the guest's name and assigned table number.
The couple had a wonderful signature drink that was non-alcoholic!
This cake was the finishing touch! How perfect to include the couple under an umbrella in Portland!

Start with the Venue!

BEFORE you plan your theme, your budget, your color scheme....figure out where the wedding will be! CASTAWAY in NW Portland has a wonderful warehouse, loft, feel. It's high ceilings are high enough to go wild but not so much that you feel like you're in an industrial tower! It calls for modern urban themes but the wooden beams allow for a great rural look as well!
The Bride decided that she wanted to use the chevron pattern and magenta was her favorite color. Magenta, gray and white became the color scheme. It was beautiful!

The Bride and her amazing friends worked hard setting this up. It took many hands but it was worth it. Remember that labor is what you pay for when you are planning your wedding budget. Decide how much your time is worth and how crazy you want to be on your special day. It worked out that there wasn't another event on the Friday night before this Saturday wedding so CASTAWAY  let us in Friday for a few hours so the wedding day gave us just enough time to add every finishing touch!
